Congratulations on completing your Resilience Training for Mentors

Please see below your presentation

Please see the Relaxation Tracks below. Practice of these techniques creates significant positive changes in gene expression even after 15 minutes

The 6 Key Fundamentals of mentoring

1) You are a source of knowledge and experience that provides “comfort” for mentees

2)The two leading takeaways mentees wanted to learn from their resilience session was 1 - how to manage stress and 2 - how to say no.

Ask Mentees if there is anything else they want to learn. This helps build trust and rapport

3) Remember Vgotskys’ zone of promimal development and understanding your need to keep your knowledge sharing close to your mentees comfort zone but not in their comfort zone and not too far from their comfort zone

4) Remember you may have the answer to their problem but helping them come to their own conclusion/solution can be much more helpful :

Rule their solution to their problem is more enduring than your solution to their problem

5) The Job of the Mentor is to create “Safety” for the the mentee to thrive by being able to have confidence that they are on the right track.

Rule: The mentor by sharing their own early career challenges the mentor helps to humanise the relationship and builds trust in the mentoring relationship

6) Remember giving is more beneficial psychologically to the giver than the receiver

Rule : A calm mentor promotes belief and hope in the mentee that they will be able to overcome challenge
